Stock Market Investment Advice

Author : Edgar Davids

Equity is undoubtedly a sound investment opportunity in recent time. With plus 9% GDP growth, Indian stock market is simply a mind-boggling investment destination. But, unlike fixed incomes, equity investment deserves more investors attention and thorough research.1.Understand the basics of Economics:Like any other market, stock market also follows the law of economics, particularly the mechanics of supply and demand. If there is a greater demand for any stock, its price will go up. On the other hand, if there is less number of buyers for any stock the price will fall. 2.Study the potential company:To make any successful investment in stock one need to now the company whose share he or she is buying. Specially, knowledge regarding its business, past performance and future potentiality helps a lot in making healthyinvestment decision.3.Make it a habit to read and watch the news:Dealing with the stock market is no guesswork. Sound decisions making isthe result of constant learning about the local and global political andeconomic incidents. Often news create immediate stir in the market. Properanalysis of any news item is important since that can affect the company orthe sectors performance, we are concerned with.4.Spread your investments:Avoid putting all eggs in single basket. If all your money is invested in a single company, the chance of making lose becomes greater. Spread the money over more than one company; it will minimize the risk of company specific poor performance. Some of the investments will earn positive return and few of them will give loss and over all chance of making netprofit becomes high. 5.Do not rely solely on stockbrokers:Do your own homework. Remember, the stock broking company is also predicting and providing tips. Once you make your homework done, check with the predictions of the broking companies. That will give you more confidence.6.Do not be greedy:People invest in stock market with an objective to earn more return than fixed income securities. This is the place where one can earn outstandingreturn. But these are risky assets. If one does not understand the riskof holding any share then above average return makes the investor greedy, and that leads to wrong stock investment decision.Result is loss. So, investors should restrict impulsive decision-making. The above article may be freely republished in any media if the author biobox and the links are kept as it is. Wholesale List: Cautions You Should Take Before Buying Them

Author : Joaquin Reveron
It is obvious that if you are in the wholesale business like many small business entrepreneurs, you then know that a wholesale list is file where you get specialized amounts of distributors, wholesalers and liquidation centers that can make your business outrageously profitable almost immediately. What many of the starting entrepreneurs like I use to be 2 years ago with specialized distributors- is that many of the wholesale distributor list being advertised on the Internet are complete scams that offer just more of the same- outdated contacts that can not be found anywhere near to the address provided from each announced source. It is a little pathetic if you think it over.A wholesale list has always supposed to be a specialized distributor and wholesale list where you get the lowest possible price for your merchandise with the most reliable, trustworthy and profitable wholesale distributors the marketplace has to offer for each niche you have or currently start. Today that definition has taken another complete false concept. The false concept of advertising outdated DVD wholesale sources for the purpose of getting $0.99-$10.00 for a sale. It is incredibly ridiculous. As you know in any kind of business, mostly- you get what you paid for. In the wholesale DVD business this saying applies twenty four seven. There are hundreds if not thousands of outdated, poor, not profitable wholesale list being advertised on eBay every single day. I do not care what the sellers on such auctions sites have to say about their list, truth is that if the current seller is not selling tangible items on such auction site and his selling nothing else but information, his not reliable. When your business relies on getting the greatest wholesale distributors, wholesalers and liquidation centers in order to convert $3.00 to $40.00- you need reliable, tested and trustworthy wholesale sources that will get the job of getting the lowest possible price- a breeze. You do not need to start like I started 2 years ago- buying every $0.99-$9.99 contact list on the Internet for having your start-up business succeed in the long-run or improve your current business thanks to profitable legit distributors. You can start right now virtually for pennies on the dollar.Getting great profitable distributors for the most profitable wholesale niches on the Internet has never become so simpler than ever before. Now a days you can just rely on power sellers that have years of experience with wholesale and from people that have made thousands of dollars in a matter of days. Those are the kind of entrepreneurs that you can rely your business. People that had the walk-to-walk experience, these are the ones. Whatever you decide doing with your new business and current offline or online business- I wish you the best of success and patience on the Internet, specially regarding wholesale. It is a very lucrative and profitable niche, but you need to be very careful on the people that you buy those DVD wholesale list and other contact list sources for improving your current or new business. Hope to see you in upcoming e-commerce seminars soon and making your business profitable with the most profitable sources till this day.Getting Wholesale DVDs is one of the business components Joaquin can help. His focus today is on assisting people create wealth through the DVD Wholesale business

How to Write a Holiday Tale that Isn't a Turkey

Author : Caterina Christakos
When we write stories, with the purpose of sharing them with others, we enter into an agreement where we allow our reader to see a glimpse of our heart, our souls and our memories. If we truly want them to be immersed in the tale, we actively immerse ourselves in those memories so that a glimmer of what we saw, heard and felt comes through. This is especially true with holiday tales. The best way to convey a holiday scene is to take a trip back in time through the wonderful world of our unconscious. Here are some great ways to delve back into our child hood memories and incorporate them into our holiday tales.1) Sit in a darkened room and close your eyes. Allow yourself to go back in time to the very first Christmas that you can remember. Take a deep breath and relax. What are the scents, sounds and feelings that come up? What is the first picture that pops into your mind?Is it the sound of children racing down the stairs that comes to you first? The feel of your heart pounding when you awoke and found that Christmas was really here? The warmth of your parents’ blankets as you bounced on them, anxious to wake them up?The autumn and winter holidays will always be associated, for me, with my grandmother’s cooking and pumpkin pies. I remember running into her little house, and the sound of the front door’s slam behind me. I was immediately engulfed in warmth. The scent of nutmeg and cinnamon and pumpkin seeds physically drew me forward, until I was wrapped in my grandmother’s embrace.2) Recreate the scene. Since a prime trigger for me is the scent of pumpkin pies, I often order pumpkin scented candles from Yankee Candles. I sit on the couch, wrapped up in a blanket, light the candles and wait. Within moments, the scent has pulled me back to my grandmother’s kitchen. And I hear the sound of my cousins pounding down the hall after me, each of us anxious to win the first warm treat. You can do the same. If a scent triggers your memories, you can either bake the cake or cookie or brew the eggnog. Or you can get one of those scented candles and simply light it.If the feel of sweaters immediately transports you back to your snow throwing days, slip one on. If you are like me and live in Florida, turn the air way up first. Close your eyes and hear the sound of children shouting as they try to nail each other with snowballs. Picture their fresh flushed faces.3) If there is a particular holiday character that sparks your memories, rent holiday movies. Some of my favorites are Frosty the Snowman and Miracle on Thirty fourth street. Watch one for a while, until you get the holiday feeling, then turn the sound off. Watch the pictures and let your mind go.4) Use all of these pictures and sensations and feelings in your story. If you are writing about a little girl in a big family, think back to what holiday dinners were like for you. Did everyone talk at once? Does your character like this or does she feel overwhelmed? What is it like to be the smallest one in a room full of adults? Is there a cousin or neighbor that is constantly picking on her? Do the children get bored and decide to explore the forbidden attic?5) Once you have a scene in mind, write down all of these questions. Don’t worry about answering them until you have run out of questions. Then think back to the picture, sound or feeling that you associate with and answer the questions.6) Now describe everything that you can about the characters. What are their ages? What do they look like? Are they the youngest or oldest in their family? Where do they live? What is their favorite thing? What are their best friend’s names? Who is their arch nemesis and why?Get as much detail as possible down.Once you can describe all of these things, the pieces of your story will begin to fall into place. More importantly, your characters and your scenes will be real and alive. Be brave and put as much of yourself into these stories and your characters. Your readers will love you for it.About The AuthorCaterina Christakos is the author of How to Write a Children’s Book in 30 Days or Less. The Benefits of Trading The Forex Market

Author : Marquez Comelab

Historically, the FX market was available most to major banks, multinational corporations and other participants who traded in large transaction sizes and volumes. Small-scale traders including individuals like you and I, had little access to this market for such a long time. Now with the advent of the Internet and technology, FX trading is becoming an increasingly popular investment alternative for the general public. The benefits of trading the currency market: It is open 24-hours and it closes only on the weekends; It is very liquid and efficient; It is very volatile; It has very low transaction costs; You can use a high level of leverage (borrowed money) with ease; and You can profit from a bull or a bear market. Continuous, 24-Hour Trading The currency exchange is a 24-hour market. You may decide to trade after you come home from work. Regardless of what time-frame you want to trade at whatever time of the day, there would be enough buyers and sellers to take the other side of your trade. This feature of the market gives you enough flexibility to manage your trading around your daily routine.Liquidity And Efficiency When there are a lot of buyers and a lot of sellers, you can expect to buy or sell at a price that is very close to the last market price. The currency market is the most liquid market in the world. Trading volume in the currency markets can be between 50 and 100 times larger than the New York Stock Exchange (Source: Oanda.) When you are trading stocks, you may have experienced events where one piece of news accelerates or decelerates the price of the underlying stock you may have bought into. Perhaps a director has been kicked out by the shareholders of a company or the company has just released a new product and big investors are buying the shares of a particular company. Share prices can be drastically affected by the actions or inactions of one or a few individuals. So if you are relying on television reports and newspapers to get your news, most of the opportunities or warnings will have come too late for you to take advantage by the time you get them. The value of currencies on the other hand is affected by so many factors and so many participants that the likelihood of any one individual or group of individuals drastically affecting the value of a currency is minute. Because of its sheer size, the currency market is hard to manipulate. The ability for people to engage in ???insider trading' is virtually eliminated. As an average trader, you are less disadvantaged. You are likely to be playing on relatively equal ground along with all the other traders and investors whom you are competing against. Note about price gaps: For those people who have already traded other markets, you probably know about price ???gaps'. ???Gaps' occur when prices ???jump' from one price level to another without having taken any incremental steps to get there. For example, you may be trading a share that closes at $10 at the end of today but due to some event that happens overnight; it opens tomorrow at $5 and continues to go downwards for the rest of the day. Gaps bring about another degree of uncertainty that may meddle with a trader's strategy. Probably one of the most worrying aspects of this is when a trader uses stop-losses. In this case, if a trader puts a stop-loss at $7 because he no longer wants to be in a trade if the share price hits $7, his trade will remain open overnight and the trader wakes up tomorrow with a loss bigger than he may have been prepared for. After looking at a couple of forex charts, you will realize that there are little price ???gaps' or none at all, especially on the longer-term charts like the 3-hour, 4-hour or the daily charts. Volatility Trading opportunities exist when prices fluctuate. If you buy a share for $2 and it stays there, there is no opportunity to make a profit. The magnitude of level of this fluctuation and its frequency is referred to as volatility. As a trader, it is volatility that you profit from. Large volume transactions and high liquidity combined with fewer trading instruments generate greater intra-day volatility in the currency market that can be exploited by day-traders. The high volatility of the currency market indicates that a trader can potentially earn 5 times more money from currency trading than trading the most liquid shares. Volatility is a measure of maximum return that a trader can generate with perfect foresight. Volatility for the most liquid stocks are between 60 to 100. Volatility for currency trading is 500. (Source: Oanda.) In this respect, currencies make a better trading vehicle for day-traders than the equity markets. Low Transaction Costs A currency transaction typically incurs no commission or transaction fees. For a forex trader, the spread is the only cost he or she needs to cover in taking on a position. In addition, because of the currency market's efficiency, there is little or no ???slippage' costs. ???Slippage' is the cost involved when traders enter the market at a price worse than the level they wanted to get into. For example, a trader wants to buy a share at $2.00 but by the time, the order gets executed, his gets to buy the shares at $2.50. That fifty cents difference is his slippage cost. Slippage cost affects large-volume traders a lot. When they buy large quantities of a commodity, it oversupplies the market with buy orders. This applies a pressure for the price to go up. By the time they get to buy all the quantities they wanted, the average price they got their commodities would be higher than the price they intended to get them for. Conversely, when they sell large quantities of a commodity, they oversupply the market with sell orders. This applies a pressure for the price to go down. By the time they finish selling all their commodities, their average selling price is less than what they initially intended to sell them for. Due to lower transaction costs, minimum slippage and strong intra-day volatility, individuals can trade frequently at small costs. As an approximate, you may only expect to have a spread of 0.03% of your position size. To give you an example, you can buy and sell 10,000 US Dollars and this will only incur a 3-point spread, equivalent to $3. Leverage There are not a lot of banks or people who would lend you money so that you can use it to trade shares. And if there are, it would be very hard for you to convince them to invest in you and in your idea that a certain share is going to go up or down. Therefore, most of the time, if you have a $10,000 account, you can only really afford to buy $10,000 worth of stocks. In currency trading however, because you use ???borrowed money', you can trade $10,000 of a currency and you only need anywhere between fifty (For a margin lending ratio of 200:1) to two hundred dollars ( For a margin lending ratio of 50:1) in your trading account. This makes it possible for an average trader with a small trading account, under $10,000 to be able to profit sufficiently from the movements of the currency exchange rates. This concept is explained further in The Part-Time Currency Trader. Profit From A Bull And Bear Market When you are trading shares, you can only profit when the price of a stock goes up. When you suspect that it is about to go down or that it is just going to be moving sideways, then the only thing you can do is sell your shares and stand aside. One of the frustrations of trading shares is that an individual cannot profit when prices are going down. In the currency market, it is easy for you to trade a currency downward so that you can profit when you think it is going to lose value. This is easy to do because currency trading simply involves buying one currency and selling another, there is no structural bias that makes it difficult to trade ???downwards'. This is why the currency market has been occasionally referred to as the eternal bull market. -----------This is an excerpt, modified from the book: The Part-Time Currency Trader. Understanding ADHD

Author : News Canada

(NC)The behavioural disorder Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has been recognized and treated since 1902. However, it is only in the last 20 years or so that research has demonstrated that it is a neurobiological disorder with far-reaching impact on children.Originally it was believed that ADHD was a condition that children would eventually outgrow. We now understand that ADHD is not caused by poor parenting, poor teachers or schools, or family problems, but due to chemical differences in the brain. It is not surprising, therefore that as many as 60 per cent of children diagnosed with ADHD will continue to have symptoms into adulthood if not properly treated.Despite increased awareness and identification of the disorder, many children are not provided with optimal treatment that provides continuous symptom relief. It is important to remember that ADHD is a disorder requiring treatment, not a set of behaviours requiring controls. Sub-optimal treatment can have serious consequences for children such as a lack of friends, accidental death, injury, sexually transmitted diseases, substance abuse, criminal activity, and causing marital difficulties for their parents.Research indicates the greatest improvement in symptoms is seen with a combination of counselling and medical treatment. For many children and their families, ADHD diagnosis provides a welcome explanation for their difficulties and leads to appropriate treatment. All medications currently approved to treat ADHD belong to a class called stimulants. A number of new investigational ADHD treatments offer great promise and in the future Canadians will have more choice in ADHD treatment. For more information on ADHD it's important to speak with your doctor.- News Canada <a href="http://www.newscanada.com/" target=new>News Canada</a> provides a wide selection of current, ready-to-use copyright free news stories and ideas for Television, Print, Radio, and the Web. <a href="http://www.newscanada.com/" target=new>News Canada</a> is a niche service in public relations, offering access to print, radio, television, and now the Internet media, with ready-to-use, editorial "fill" items. A Guide To Peritoneal Mesothelioma

Author : Richard Romando

Approximately 10-20 percent of the cases of mesothelioma begin in the lining of the abdominal cavity (peritoneal mesotheliomas). This type of mesothelioma does not respond well to treatment, but is less common than pleural mesothelioma, which affects the membrane covering the lungs. Since it is difficult to treat, peritoneal mesothelioma often results in an early death. The disease attacks and destroys soft tissue and nearby nerves, causing intense pain to the patient. The first symptom is abdominal pain. At the initial stage, pain can be eased with analgesics, such as aspirin, acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin). Treatment can include surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, which are aimed at stopping the spread of the disease and at alleviating the pain. Another reason why this form of mesothelioma is so hard to treat is that the symptoms are often dormant and surface only after 35-40 years of exposure to asbestos. Peritoneal mesothelioma, like all forms of mesothelioma, is mainly caused by exposure to asbestos over a period of time. Construction workers, their families, and people who live in asbestos-insulated buildings where the asbestos fibers are exposed, are most at risk of contacting mesothelioma.Symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma include weight loss and abdominal pain and swelling due to a buildup of fluid in the abdomen. Other symptoms may include bowel obstruction; blood clotting abnormalities, anemia, and fever. If the cancer has spread beyond the mesothelium to other parts of the body, symptoms may include pain, trouble swallowing, or swelling of the neck or face. Mesothelioma provides detailed information on malignant mesothelioma, asbestos and mesothelioma, mesothelioma, mesothelioma research and more. Mesothelioma is affliated with Malignant Mesothelioma Diagnosis.

Getting The Right Domain Name

Author : Adrian Lawrence -
Once you are comfortable with working online, you should buy a domain name for your site or sites. Domain name registration, if you do it right, is one of the key components of having your site rate high in the search engines. The right domain name is memorable, and can get your site to rank higher than other names. The wrong domain name won't do you any good at all.

The Basics of Domain Name Registration

The first thing you have to do is come up with a good domain name for registration. Don't even think about a one-word domain name; they're all gone at this point. Instead, come up with dual-word combos. If you're putting together a professional site, try your name before anything else.

Don't get fancy with spelling when selecting your domain name registration, or use 2s and 8s to represent their sounds. You can try the number 1; that sometimes works. You can also try the names of products you offer, or a description of your site content offerings: Romanceforgirls, popcornpalace, fluffykittens. Memorable is always better; short and memorable is best, but very difficult to accomplish.

Come up with a couple of dozen names that will do for your site, and test them on a registry. Don't buy a domain name for which the .com extension is gone, but you have access to the .net or .info. These domain names are not by any means as valuable as the .com. If you pick up the .com, though, and you expect the site to be lucrative or have a lot of competition, it's not a bad idea to pick up the other extensions as well. Domain name registration is NOT expensive, and if you register in bulk you can get an even better price.

The .UK Extension

This doesn't mean you should avoid anything but .com. If you have a business in the United Kingdom, you have access to the .uk domain name set, which UK customers are likely to look at before anything else for UK-specific businesses.

If you anticipate most of your business will come from British customers who are aware your business is in Britain, the .uk extension may be a better choice than the .com; and if your customers are unhappy with Internic's control of Internet domain registration or they are very pro-Britain, the .uk extension is certainly a better choice.

If you're fortunate enough to find both extensions for your domain open, and if you run a British company, it doesn't cost much to buy them both, and you definitely should.

It also gives your online presence an immediate “identity” geographically which can be crucial in building online relationships- where trust is a key component. By being a .UK domain, you are very likely to gain UK clients.

The .UK domains market is one of the fastest growing and lucrative registration areas on the internet.

Tips for Domain Name Registration

Have a website ready to plunk into your domain as soon as you buy it, and submit it immediately to the search engines. The search engines take time to index new sites and your domain name registration is only as valuable as the search engines make it.

You can also have more than one domain name pointing at a single site. If you've bought multiple extensions for your domain name (as in the previously-suggested .com/.uk combination), you can set up your site under one domain name and then direct traffic from the others to the main site. This is called web traffic forwarding and has been around for years. It may be as simple as parking your domain name on a server and putting a line of code on the page, or as complex as going through another website to use their online web forwarding services.

When you do register a domain and start building traffic to it, go out and renew for multiple years before your renewal is due. It is surprisingly easy to forget to register your domain name on time, and if someone else sneaks in and registers it, you've just lost a ton of work on that domain.

By making your domain name memorable, you will help other webmasters remember your site easily when building anchor texts in their links- a crucial component of SEO.

Final tip: don’t just think about price when looking for a domain registration company- also think about quality of service. While you shouldn’t be paying over the odds, it really is better to be safe than sorry and go with the more established registrars. Then you can have peace of mind that should any problems arise, you will be well looked after.

Shooting High Definition Video Footage in Italy

Author : Kathi Jacobs
Italy is without question the place to shoot high definition video. Nearly everything in this sun-drenched part of the world cries out for a photo or video capture. My feelings about the country have never wavered from this opinion.Having said that, I must also admit that Italy - particularly in metropolitan areas - is a problematic country for videographers. Rome, among other Italian cities, has some of the toughest regulations and laws limiting commercial photography. My husband, Wayne, and I formed our company - VITA Digital Productions - 5 years ago to shoot European video footage - both for our own specialty-market treadmill virtual walks ( www.treadmillwalks.com ) and to sell as stock footage to TV networks around the world ( www.hdeuropeanstockfootage.com ). We made the decision last year to switch over to HD (High Definition) footage after getting our first request for HD footage. Our biggest concerns, in planning our recent three-week shoot in May 2005, were 1. the safe transport of our video equipment (all in carry-on bags, for obvious reasons!), 2. the ability to shoot in and around tourist-laden locations, and 3. finding ways to get video footage in spite of the stringent regulations enforced in Rome.Wayne and I have done this several times over the past five years - researching a picture-worthy destination in Europe, making our own travel plans, and packing up like two serendipitous vagabonds to go forth and shoot (you'd just have to know me to appreciate how foreign this is - no pun intended - to my accustomed, orderly way of life). When I look back to the first part of 2001 (pre 9-11) and our two trips to Italy in spring and summer of that year, I realize now how easy it was to get through customs with unusual looking video equipment. When the two of us travel on a video shoot, we have slowly learned to take the bare minimum of clothing so that we can
accommodate the camera, tripods, SteadiCam apparatus, batteries, filters, wide-angle lens, fluid heads, and tape in addition to spare parts for repairs. This trip, anticipating problems with airport security, we took pictures of Wayne wearing the SteadiCam vest and showing the camera mounted on the articulated arm. We then tucked the pictures inside the luggage for quick and easy retrieval. When the security agents x-rayed our bags, they never failed to have us open our luggage and inspect the equipment contained. It expedited the process when we were able to produce pictures showing how every piece of equipment fit together. Wayne also mailed a small and inexpensive packet of tools (a screwdriver, a pair of pliers and an Allen wrench) to each of our two hotels so that we would not have those little forbidden items confiscated in the airports. And for some reason, an Allen wrench is an absolute no-no with security agents! I suppose that all of the items could have been purchased in Italy, but time is money on a shoot and we didn't want to waste time searching for a source in a strange city.Safely arriving with all of our equipment in Italy, we were ready to begin shooting. We had an itinerary and a shooting agenda for each day, but we knew we would have to build in some flexibility to allow for both the weather and the unexpected. We have been extremely lucky in this regard, even on our two previous shooting trips to England. So how does a videographer shoot around the tourists? If too many people are between the camera and subject or site being shot, the whole effort can be an utter waste of time. And also, unfortunately, the Italian polizia and carabinieri are quick to tell a videographer or still photographer to fold up that tripod and move on!! They do NOT have any patience with a foreign professional photographer, so common sense and a little stealth are requirements. For tourist-filled sites, we have found that shooting in the very early morning works well for us. For one thing, Italy is a late-night country, so there are few people (and that includes police) out on the streets at first light. Typically, we would get to a site by 7 AM each morning, shoot for a few hours and then return to the hotel for breakfast: then back out into the streets for more shooting. The first part of our trip focused on the Amalfi Coast where we filmed, in addition to some incredibly beautiful stock footage, a virtual walk through the Valle di Mulino (the Valley of the Mills) above Amalfi, another through Pompeii, a third on the Isle of Capri, from Anacapri to Torre Damecuta, and yet another from Ravello to Atrani into the Piazza Umberto. The last two weeks of this trip took us back to Rome, where our focus was HD stock footage and Renaissance art - Bernini
sculptures and Raphael paintings claimed the lion's share of our time and attention. We spent much of our time filming the Pantheon (Raphael's Tomb and the occulus); the Church of Santa Maria de Popolo and its Chigi Chapel; Santa Maria della Vittoria with Bernini's "Ecstasy of St. Teresa"; the Fountain of the Four Rivers in the Piazza Navona; St. Peter's Basilica and Square; and those delightful Breezy Maniacs of Bernini's along the bridge to the Castel Sant'Angelo. We devoted a day filming a virtual walk in the medieval town of Viterbo (just 1.5 hours by train from Rome). An historical note about Viterbo - had John Paul II or Benedict XVI been elected Pope in the 13th century, it would have happened here rather than in Rome. Now a well-preserved provincial village, but in its heyday, Viterbo was Rome's greatest rival!Rome was more crowded with tourists during this trip than we've ever encountered. Much of that could be attributed to pilgrims
flocking to the Vatican in the month following the death of Pope John Paul II and the subsequent election of Pope Benedict XVI. We've also heard that more Americans are traveling to Europe this summer than ever before. Whatever the reason, there were visitors everywhere. At the end of the trip, we were exhausted but satisfied with the 20 plus hours of High Definition footage we shot along the Amalfi Coast and in Rome. There was an unfortunate incident with a French gendarme in the Charles deGaulle airport, but that will remain a story told within the family! Is a foreign shoot worth the time, expense, and aggravation? I'll give you a resounding yes on that one - but with a caveat: pack an extra dose of patience and a big heart, and both will be rewarded many times over!My husband, Wayne, and I own a video production company that focuses on European travel. In addition to our Virtual Walks Series, we also shoot stock footage of Venice, Rome, the Amalfi Coast, London, and English villages. We have sold our footage to numerous television networks and production houses around the world.

Reimbursing African-Americans for Slavery Considered

Author : Lance Winslow
A big debate in the United States of America right now is whether or not the United States government should reimburse all African-Americans for the slavery of their ancestors. How would this be done? Very simply actually anyone who had an ancestor who was a slave would receive money.Unfortunately in doing as we would find that many African-Americans had multiple ancestors were slaves and if they were pure African American they might have as many as 256 grandparents who were slaves. This means if they were given $30,000 each with interest we would have to give every African-American $100 million. I do not think the US treasury can afford that. So it obviously cannot be done and how would you determine the percentage of each person who may have had slavery in our ancestry? And come to think of it I bet I have some Roman ancestry, which may have been slaves, perhaps I also have some ancient Egyptian ancestry. And just think of all the interest I am owed? As a matter of fact you may as well just give me the Pyramids now. With a little extra investment I could make a lot of money on the tourist trade. It is absolutely ludicrous to consider reimbursing all the African-Americans for slavery. Although philosophically it is an interesting thing to talk about and something to consider when studying American history, it simply cannot be done.We should however review our past and understand what we went through as to not repeat it in the future. However, reimbursing present period African-Americans for the plight of their ancestors is utterly preposterous. Please consider this in 2006.Lance Winslow

Best kitchen designs for your home!!

Author : Mike Nicholson

Owning a house is the most wonderful feeling, and making it best designed and decorated gives satisfaction to the inner soul. Making every corner of your house perfect and presentable adds beauty to life. And kitchens are not the exceptions. Kitchens are one of the most important part of the house. Making your kitchen perfectly designed and arranged makes your life easy and you enjoy working there. Making your kitchen beautiful can be done by choosing right kitchen design for your kitchens. When we are talking of kitchen design, we are talking mainly of 4 types of kitchen layouts from which you can choose for yourselves and make your kitchen elegant and presentable. The designs which we are going to discuss here are:L Shaped LayoutThis is one of the most frequently used layouts and is suitable for both small and large kitchens. Typically, this layout will include two work zones on one wall (cooking and refrigeration) with the third (washing) located on the other wall. U Shaped LayoutThe typical U Shape will use three walls instead of two and provides significantly more worktop space. The sink is normally located in the middle wall with cooking and refrigeration positioned opposite each other. Single Galley LayoutTypically used when there is little space available, the single galley layout incorporates all three work zones on one wall. It is recommended that the sink is located in the centre with cooking and refrigeration placed on either side.Double GalleyThis layout is used with very narrow kitchens and those with doors at either end. Two work zones, usually cooking and refrigeration are placed on one wall with the washing area opposite. So if you are thinking of renovating your kitchen design, always keep in mind all the 4 designs. Take a look at your kitchen and analyse which design will be suitable for your kitchen. What kind of settings you want to keep for your kitchen and accordingly you can choose out the design. omegaplc

Communicable Corporate Diseases Hurting Business Sexcess!

Author : Lee Raito
Enron Executive goes to prison for 10 years, Martha Stewart is under house arrest, and Bill Clinton averages $150,000 per speaking engagement. It all comes down to decisions on the fly, no pun intended. What you may not even think is an important decision at the time, could bring down your company or your employers, in less time than it takes to say to the massage parlor attendant, “Do you take Amex?”Does it seem like the world has gone to hell in a hand basket overnight? With CEO’s signing off on corporate governance, government intervention, consumer watchdog groups, senior lobbyists, and teenagers with 24-hour Internet connections, you would think that we would be free of Corporate Disease by now.Wrong! As long as there are decisions to be made by human beings, there will always be a select few that aren’t even aware they are carriers of a communicable corporate disease. All it takes these days is one trip to the doctor, slash forensic accountant, and you have a full-scale investigation on your hands. So what is the solution? In short, there is only one logical solution.Communicable corporate diseases will cease to exist when business people stop having unprotected corporate relations, with themselves and other partners. What does that mean?It means the only way to protect you or your employer is to ensure you are wearing your corporate condom before you go out and play.No different than sex folks.Know your self intimately, know your partner, get tested, do a background check, ask for references, sign a prenuptial, and then when you think you have done enough…do it all over again.Maybe, just maybe, you will stay free of any corporate communicable diseases.by Lee Raito, CFP, FMA

You're Eating Your Retirement Money

Author : Sue And Chuck DeFiore
Ever think about how eating all those fast food meals for lunch are effecting your pocketbook. Let’s do the math. You eat out 5 days a week at an average cost of $5 to $7 a day.At $5 a day averaging 20 days a month (and some months more), but let’s just go with 20 days x $5 = $100 a month x 12 months, that is $1200 a year. You could use that $1200 for a vacation, or as the title of this article states, start your own retirement fund. You do the math. Let’s say you are currently 30 years of age and you save that $1200 a year x 35 years (retiring at age 65) = $42,000. Now that is just a straight $42,000 not invested in a mutual fund, IRA, or any type of fund that would pay some interest or grow over the years. It is a lot better than it just going down your throat, never to be seen again.Let’s do the math for $7 x 20 days = $140 a month x 12 months = $1680 x 35 years = $58,800. And if you spend more for lunch just do the math. It is a substantial sum of money going down the tubes (your esophagus to be exact)!Years ago, when I worked in Corporate America, my co-workers would be mystified by my ability to buy a new dress, suit, coat, shoes, etc. each month. They consistently remarked on how good my wardrobe looked and wanted to know my secret. It was simple. I saved around $100 per month by bringing my lunch from home instead of eating out. I took some of what I saved for clothes and saved the rest. My friends were amazed that such a small change could have such great benefits for them.I spend on average $2-$5 a week on lunch depending on what I buy. If for example I buy tuna, I can get that not on sale for $2 a can. Mixed with mayo or dressing, which I already have, that makes a week’s lunch on a slice of bread, which again I already have in house, along with the piece of fruit. For those of you who are sticklers out there, tuna = $2; bread = $3; mayo/dressing = $3; that is still under $10 for the week, and at $5 a day for lunch, what you pay for two days of lunch I am getting lunch for a week. To be a bit more exact: remember, the mayo and bread last for more than one week, so the actual cost is even less than $10 per week. For those of you who are already complaining you don’t have the time to make lunch. Yes you do, after you have cleaned up after dinner, take the time to make up your lunch for the next day. Take some time on Saturday or Sunday to make up your lunch for the week. So, start eating smart, and in the majority of cases a lot healthier, today, and the biggest PLUS is start saving lots of money for the special things you want and for an even better retirement.Copyright 2005 DeFiore EnterprisesInterested in having your own successful, home based creative real estate investing business? This is a Sales Call: How to Begin Prospecting Calls with Integrity

Author : Sharon Drew Morgen
"Hello. I'm looking for Sharon Morgen?"
"Sharon DREW Morgen."
"What? Sharon Morgen?"
"No. Sharon DREW"
"Um. Hello. Are you Mrs. Drew?"
"Ms. Morgen. That's me. Is this a sales call?"
"Um. Hello. No. I'm with XYZ bank and I'm giving you a service call."
"Regarding what? I don't do business with you. And you're not supposed to be making a telemarketing call on me. So what type of service are you offering for free?"
"Well, it's not for free. But we thought you'd like to know about our new banking services."
"Ah. So it IS a sales call."
"We're not allowed to say that."This call really happened.Years ago I lost a large piece of business because I advocated telling prospects, "This is a sales call." For some reason, the Sales Director was appalled that I would announce it was a sales call. Who would prospects think they were speaking with? Their wife? Their mother? A relative? A friend? I'm a stranger, obviously. And why would I be calling them? Would I be from their child's school, announcing a problem? Or from the neighborhood, with a report of a house on fire? How about a person from the cleaner's, telling them I'd lost their new suit? What is wrong with telling prospects that you're placing a sales call? They'll guess it anyway when they don't recognize your voice. It will also be obvious because your opening remarks will probably sound uncomfortable - like a stranger placing a call to another stranger. But it doesn't have to be that way.NO NAME, NO TIMELet's start with the name game. Dale Carnegie used to recommend that sales people repeat the prospect's name because he thought people loved hearing their own name spoken. Whether that was because the phone systems in 1937 weren't that great, or because that was a commonly accepted belief, it's no longer the case. When we really know someone, we rarely use their name. Intimacy means never have to say someone's name – there's just this eye contact people have, or a special way of saying 'Hi. It's ME."Of course you use people's names – I'm being slightly facetious here – but not repeatedly during the same conversation, and not often, when you know someone well. When you over-use a prospect's name, it becomes a ploy to manipulate them into liking you so you can fantasize that you're their friend, and convince this person that you want or have A RELATIONSHIP.But it's not true. Hearing their name spoken repeatedly by a stranger makes prospects feel even more detached. And what about the assumption that they're sitting there, waiting for this call, with nothing else to do but take the call – even if it's a bank they do business with, or a charity they donate to?What is it about a sales call that makes it about the sales person anyway? What makes it about the product? Why is it even about a sale? Why not make a sales call – even a prospecting call – an aspect of your brand? A way of showing your prospects that you are supporting them and your product, through a collaboration (rather than a sale)?FEAR OF COLD CALLSLet me back track for a moment. I've trained many thousands of sales people; I can name on one hand the number of people who have eagerly sought out cold calling (and I'm one of them. I LOVE it – what fun! What a neat way to get to know people!). Why? Because sellers don't want to impose themselves on strangers. Because you believe the prospects don't have the time or care. Because you get rejected. Because your ego says prospects should call you.But none of that has to be true. Let's look at the pieces, and then proceed to understand how they can each be mitigated with Buying Facilitation.Imposing on strangers
When you make a call to a stranger (either prospects, or clients who have been handed over to you from a previous sales person) they don't know who you are, naturally, and you have no rapport with them. By definition you are imposing. Additionally, you are placing a call to get something for yourself and actually attempting to take something from them. Whether it's to 'make them' listen to you, or buy something from you, or do something for you. It's not like you're calling to give them a million bucks: you want them to do something, like listen to you, or buy from you, or make a change for you in some way. So you want something from this person. But this person is a stranger. Why should this person give you anything, unless they are already predisposed to want what you have anyway? Remember that before someone does anything (different or otherwise) they must make a decision to do it. And all decisions are based on specific, unique, criteria – not information. So all the information in the world that you might have to share is immaterial if the person doesn't know how to decide what to do with it.Time
Your prospect is obviously not sitting next to the phone waiting for a call from you. S/he is doing something. Whatever it is, s/he's doing something. In order to earn the right to use some of this person's time, you've got to ask for it and announce why you should be using their time. Asking if it's a good time to speak (not the same as saying 'Do you have a few moments?' – the implication here is, 'do you have a few moments FOR ME.') will help here.Rejection
Why do you get rejected? Because you're trying to get something from this person that YOU want to get. And they say no.What does 'no' do? It causes a Stop Action. There is no possibility of forward movement when 'no' is uttered; the person who is the naysayer holds the power in any relationship. As long as you continue to attempt to get your needs met from a cold call, attempt to get someone to listen to what you wish to say, try to get someone to buy something – even an idea – you will continue to get rejected by all of those people who don't consciously recognize a need for what you're pushing. When you get lucky and receive a positive response, it will be from those who already have determined a need and you then become a commodity. You better have a 'good price' for those people who will accept your call, because they won't know how else to choose you once you join the ranks of similar suppliers.USE BUYING FACILITATION TO SUPPORT MUTUAL AGREEMENTUsing Buying Facilitation as the basis for the call won't be to take anything, sell anything, push anything, or even find out anything. Your job is to:1. support the other person in recognizing if anything is missing in the category your product can support, and if so, how to start the process of designing a solution that will fix their problem (yes, even on a cold call, you can help the prospect begin the process of a complex sale);2. help them discover their criteria for considering whether it's time to fill in a gap by doing something they haven't done before now. It's not about you, not about your product, and not about what you're offering. Until or unless a buyer recognizes that what they're doing isn't working, and until they are ready to do something different to fix/change the status quo, nothing you say will be heard. Remember: people do not make decisions based on information.Using Buying Facilitation, your job is to help people make the necessary decisions that will support the change they'd need to go through to do something different from what they're already doing.Use your cold call to help people decide. And start the call by getting into rapport and inviting people into a collaboration with you:Caller: "Hello. My name is Sharon Drew Morgen. This is a sales call, and I'm selling sales training. Is this a good time to speak?"By using this opening, you are telling people who you are and why you're calling, telling people you're respectful of their time, letting them know you are an honest person, saying exactly what you're calling for, and not mangling their name (somehow the name you have in front of you is either never the right person or never the right name). And, just something I have found to be true: unless you are calling from a company with a recognized brand name, saying the name of your company is unnecessary – they won't recognize it or remember it.If the person says it's not a good time, ask if there is a better time to call back. Don't try to throw a quick pitch in – just ask if there is a better time. If the person says they have a few minutes, say:"I appreciate the time. And if the call goes on longer than you have time to complete, we can end whenever it's good for you and pick it up at another time."In this way, you are giving the person permission to have control over the call. After all, they're in control anyway. By using this opening - actually, it's the first step in the Buying Facilitation Method® - you will have already dealt with the time and imposition issues, and the rejection won't be about you.
And remember: make your call about helping them make discoveries and decisions. Don't use your time to push anything. Otherwise, you're wasting a great opportunity to find a new client and introduce your brand of integrity.Sharon Drew Morgen is the author of New York Times bestseller Selling with Integrity. Unreasonable self-belief - Start from a solid baseWhen Houdini was interviewed in 1897 he said, "I think noone can beat me at magic; but I'm still obscure. It doesn'tbother me, however, I know I am going to be famous."One of the ways to remove any doubts that you have is tothink of yourself as The World's Leading Expert in theOpinions of YOU. Buying Sport Shoes

Author : Niki Aubertin
It's import to match your foot size, width and shape to the sport shoe you're considering. For example, if you have low arches or you're flat foot, you should consider a shoe that has a slight upward curve in the front of the shoe. Many find a somewhat flat shoe with middle cushioning quite comfortable, and a good idea when considering longevity. Other designs may not be as comfortable or durable. The internet will provide you with literally hundreds of choices for buying sport shoes. You shouldn't have a problem buying the right shoe to match your choice in style, function or performance. Even for those with flat feet. Since The Consumer Report Guide mentioned New Balance as a good shoe, they have managed to maintain a place among the more popular choices for running, cross training and walking shoes. They may serve your purpose in looking for a good sport shoe. Other popular choices are Nike, Adidas, Michael Jordan and Puma. Other companies you can easily spot around the gym are Brooks, Saucony and Asics to mention a few.Always remember to size your foot so you have a little room in the front of your longest toe, about ? to ? an inch to the front of the shoe. You should have a firm fit in the heal so you don't have any slippage, nothing too snug as well. Lightweight is found in probably about 80% of the shoes lately. See what they say about breathability and washability. All these factors should be in your general list of considerations when buying sports shoes. Personalize your needs from there.Niki Aubertinis a successful business woman and is the creative writer of http://www.buytherightrunningshoes.com/39364-buying-sport-shoes.html

RSS has been around for more than a decade but until recently “Rss Technology” started penetrating its roots deep inside the soil of the so-called E-world.Using this standard, web publishers provide updates, such as the latest news headlines, special announcements, press releases or weblog postings through their RSS contentReally Simple Syndication (RSS) is a lightweight XML vocabulary for describing metadata about web sites, ideal for news syndication. Originated by userland software in 1997 and used by Netscape to populate Netscape's My Netscape portal with external newsfeeds ("channels") RSS has taken on a life of its own and has become perhaps the most popular XML format today. Thousands of web sites today use RSS as a "what's new" mechanism to drive traffic their way. (Including the BBC, CNET, CNN, Eweek, Forbes, Motley Fool, Wired, Red Herring, Yahoo, MSN and many more…).As each day passes by, new websites are being launched and added to the internet bandwagon and in order to compete, webmasters & web publishers need to find different ways of producing themed-based websites. Highly focused articles are often sought by webmasters. Why? Because content on the web is still king! In order to attract search engines and site visitors, webmasters depend heavily on providing informative, creative and fresh content. If the web site content is rich, visitors will come. If the website content is updated regularly, visitors will return. When evaluating a website's traffic it is easy to see that the low cost of syndicated content can add-up considerably to a website's value. Many webmasters & web publishers are struggling to find fresh, innovative content while other savvy webmasters have realized the ability hidden within RSS and are adopting the technology at a maddening pace. By utilizing RSS, webmasters can tap through a variety of distinctive free content sources with very little effort. RSS truly is a webmaster's key to free content. With the help of RSS technology webmasters can also reach their potential and targeted customers directly, how this is done? Well…. typically RSS feeds contains “News Headlines” and content summaries of a particular product or service these content summaries contain just enough information without overwhelming the reader with superfluous details. If the reader is interested and wants additional information they can click on the item in the feed, accessing the website which contains additional details. RSS readers aggregate multiple feeds, making it easy for individuals to quickly scan information contained within each feed. Feeds are generally themed, allowing users to opt-in to feeds that are of their interest. One of the major benefits to RSS is that individuals opt-in to content of interest, totally controlling the flow of information that they receive. If the quality of the content in the feed declines, users simply removes the feed from there RSS reader and they will not receive any additional updates from that source. The RSS reader acts as an aggregator, allowing users to view and scan multiple content streams in a very short period of time.
With the RSS webmasters & web publishers have the advantage to update their already existing feed, so that when ever they have something new to publish or offer all they have to do is update their already published feed and the message gets updated everywhere it’s subscribed. No more worrying if your subscribers got your message or not. Thus, Rss gives you the opportunity in establishing strong relationships with your existing subscribers as well as helps in attracting new potential subscribers who are interested in what you offer. If you really want to make a difference then RSS is the perfect tool in reaching out to your subscribers or customers throughoutSyed Ibrahim is a prominent internet strategist and also manages marketing for http://www.rapidfeeds.comCreate, Edit, Publish & Track your RSS feed online just in three easy steps!!

6 Questions Insurance Agents Must Ask Before Buying Internet Leads

Author : Mark Lundberg

Top 6 Questions Insurance Agents Must Ask?Before Spending One Dime On Internet Leads!DISCLAIMER: DYB Marketing "does not" sell leads of any sort and we "do not" work for any lead companies. DYB Marketing is a private marketing consulting firm in Minneapolis, MN. We have hundreds of insurance agents across the nation using our Success? marketing systems. They buy and work internet insurance leads every day. The following information will be useful for any agent who currently buys or is thinking of buying internet insurance leads. To view our insurance marketing systems visit: www.termlifesuccess.com or www.hsasuccess.com To Your Success,Mark LundbergDYB Marketing Save yourself time, money and frustrations?Don?t be ripped off buying Insurance Leads! With the advent of the new SPAM laws, fax laws and ?do not call? lists successful insurance agents across America are turning to the internet to get their piece of the insurance industry multi-trillion dollar pie!. Internet leads can be one of the fastest and most time and cost effective ways to build your insurance business.Caveat Emptor ? ?Let The Buyer Beware!?However, before blindly running out and purchasing any old internet leads, you?d be wise to know the answers to the following 6 questions before making the decision to pull out your wallet and your credit card. Make it a habit to ask these questions of ALL internet lead suppliers. The honest ones won?t have a problem assisting you with answers. Beware of the others and move on. There?s no shortage of internet lead suppliers to choose from, so be selective.1. Are the leads you generate available ?EXCLUSIVE?? This is a very important question. Many of the lead sources online today sell the same lead over and over again. Sometimes as many as 9 or more different times! Some of them try to hide the fact that they resell one lead many times over. Others will say you have exclusive access for a limited-time. This can simply mean that after you?ve had it a day or two, they sell it again to someone else. Exclusive leads will be more expensive than a non-exclusive lead. I tend to look for a lead supplier who puts specific limits to the number of times their lead is sold. 3-5 times maximum is a good rule of thumb.TIP: Many folks who shop the internet are professional shoppers. Even though you pay higher prices from a reputable lead supplier for an exclusive lead doesn?t mean these people aren?t getting quotes from other sources. You?ll still need to differentiate yourself with superior service in order to close the deal. 2. Are the leads delivered to me in REAL-TIME? Some lead suppliers don?t have the ability to deliver your leads to you in real-time. That should send up a red flag. The sooner you receive the lead from the time a person has requested an insurance quote the more likely they are to be near their phone and ready to talk and take action. The ?real time? lead is simply a better quality lead that will help you increase your close ratio and provide a better return on investment. My definition of ?real time? is less than 2 hours.3. Can I control my LEAD DELIVERY? Your ?leads delivery? should be at a rate you can comfortably handle them. The best close ratio occurs when you immediately follow up with a lead as soon as you get it. The more time that passes the less your chance of getting the sale. You can waste a whole lot of time and money if you overload your plate with too many leads.Ask if you can turn the leads off in the event you need to stop delivery to catch up or take some time off. Your first sales challenge with internet leads is to adapt your selling systems to internet time. It?s important that you follow up with web prospects quickly, within minutes, if possible, but certainly within hours after receiving a lead. We live in a society of instant gratification so strive for speedy first contact. If you don?t, your competitors will. Experiment with a few leads to determine what?s best for your situation.4. Can I return BAD LEADS?Many lead suppliers will not allow you to exchange or return bad leads you receive from them. We?ve found that even with validity checks on leads submitted, some leads still get through with bad information. A reputable lead supplier will always do a favorable exchange with you. Clarify this point upfront and save unnecessary headaches. Therefore, make sure that the company you do business with has a liberal return policy and has it clearly stated on their website. TIP: Some companies say they refund a maximum of 10%-15% of the total leads purchased. Use this percentage as a negotiating point when purchasing leads. Also ask the company what makes a lead returnable? What makes the lead invalid? Different companies have different policies on what constitutes a bad lead. If the lead company is too hard to deal with on this point, find another one. 5. Can you offer a REDIRECT?A redirect means that when a prospect submits the survey that generates the lead, the system has the ability to "redirect" that lead to your own email address or website. If the company is not able to offer you a redirect ask them to explain why. Many times when a company cannot provide a redirect it?s because they are generating leads from "Co-Reg" pages. A "Co-Reg" or Co-registration is when a person signs up for a newsletter or some other information. They are given the option to get more information on other companies by clicking 5 or more checkboxes. Often they are forced to select at least 3 or more. These are VERY LOW quality leads and most times the prospect isn?t even in the market for your insurance products. You have to be careful that the lead is not an ?Incentivized Lead?. Many websites offer users incentives to fill out forms. In exchange for filling out these forms users are given points towards the purchase of merchandise or free samples sometimes even money. These leads will empty your wallet very fast with 0% return on your investment. 6. Do you have FILTERING ABILITY?It takes as much time and effort to close and write an application that provides a $150 commission as it does to write an application that provides a $1500 commission. With that in mind, filtering is a process that allows you to cherry pick the higher potential prospects. Lead suppliers charge more for filtering but many times it?s worth it. For instance, you may only want to deal with 45-55 year old non-smoking men with annual incomes over $100,000 looking for $1,000,000 of term life insurance. There are significantly less leads available that meet this criteria but the commission potential is significantly higher. After you purchase good quality leads your next challenge is closing a higher percentage of them. To explore the secrets top insurance producers don?t want you to know check out the two sites below:DYB Marketing first became involved in the insurance industry in March 2004. We developed our first insurance marketing system for the new consumer driven health care products. How To Book A Fly Fishing Trip In 3 Easy Steps

Author : Linda Harrison
Did you know that fly fishing is one of the most relaxing sports around? Casting a line into a calm stream can be said to be one of lifeÂ’s greatest pleasures. Fly fisherman can seem a bit fanatic in their quest for the perfect river and the perfect spot to spend the day looking for a good catch. IÂ’ve done a little research into the world of fly fishing vacations and have come up with the three tips that can turn your next fly fishing trip into an experience to remember.

1) Consider lesser known fly fishing spots. Did you know that there is absolutely incredible fly fishing available in a lot of states that wouldnÂ’t seem obvious at first glance? There sure is. One such spot is Montana. True pros know that Montana has a ton of incredible fly fishing spots and that you only really need to find one to make your vacation incredible. During the summer, Montana and Wyoming can become very crowded with tourists looking to visit the stunning national parks. However, these 1 week tourists might not be overly interested in visiting the secluded lakes and streams that you might love to fish in Montana.

2) Compare online deals. Orbitz and Expedia can offer some really good deals on package vacations. However, sometimes itÂ’s best to check out discount airlines for really good deals. Southwest and JetBlue have become extremely popular airline options and they cover a good part of the US now. Booking separate hotel and (a discount) airfare might be a great option if you want to save some bucks. You should spend your money on fly fishing gear, not overpriced transportation and accommodation.

3) Canada. This is the most important tip (and overlooked destination) of all. There is nothing quite as good as saving some money during the exchange rate process. Canada is just over the border and has an absolute bounty of natural resources. Lakes, ponds, and streams team with fish. This country is a fly fishermanÂ’s dream come true. There are tons of places that will gladly book you in for a fly fishing vacation.

E-mail Writing: "They'll Know What I Mean" Just Doesn't Cut It

Author : Paul Docherty

Have you ever wondered how people coped in the world of business before e-mail? If you're under 30, you've probably never worked in an office or with a company that didn't have it. So how did people manage without it? Easy: they communicated. Most businesses will admit that, while e-mail has some wonderful advantages, it isn't exactly without its pitfalls. We have a whole generation of workers coming through the ranks now who don't have the communication skills that many before us had. The art of conversation is undoubtedly dying and the business world will suffer as a result.Senior managers are realising that much of the miscommunication and misunderstanding in business today can be attributed to an impersonal communication style made so easy by e-mail. E-mail is a breeding ground for misunderstanding and ambiguity, with most people sadly ill-equipped to deal with the medium as a form of communication. So where is it falling down? To understand, we have to look at some of what human communication is about. Any formally trained manager will be able to tell you about active listening, body language, neuro linguistic programming and all the well-studied aspects of human interaction but the most astounding argument against e-mail has to be in the art of verbal conversation. Of the three aspects of verbal communication; words, voice intonation and body language (sometimes also known as words, music and dance) only 7% of the message we give is derived by the other person from the words we use. A further 38% is derived from the voice and intonation, while a staggering 55% of the meaning of our face-to-face verbal communications is derived unconsciously from the body language. It's therefore not difficult to see why e-mail could be seen by many as a deficient and potentially dangerous modern menace. It's not all bad though. E-mail is still one of the most valuable tools available to modern business: the time savings alone make it worthwhile in many instances. There is, however, a need to fully understand the effect of using e-mail and what is lost from the 'conversation' as a result of restricting our message to only 7% of the available method. By appreciating the deficiencies of e-mail, we can start to compensate. As I mentioned earlier, ambiguity is a killer in business. If you use e-mail daily, you must learn to use unambiguous language, to be clear in your meaning and to make sure that the recipient of your e-mail is left in no doubt as to your meaning. Unfortunately for many people, though, this results in long-winded messages, somewhat defeating the instantaneous appeal of e-mail in the first place. But being clear in your message doesn't mean you can't be concise and efficient with your words. Indeed it's all the more reason to practice your writing skills.Whenever possible, ensure that you draft important e-mails in advance of sending them. Take some time to read what you've written and analyse what meaning could be taken from it. If you can see more than one potential meaning, you can bet your recipient will too: so reword it.Being aware of the limitations is half the battle in making sure that your e-mails are clear and result in what you intended, not what someone else thought you might have intended. In the world of business "They'll know what I mean..." just doesn't cut it.More advice on writing and the use of e-mail and web writing can be found easily on the internet these days at sites like http://www.freewritingadvice.com - so there's no excuse. How to Create an Emotional Bond with Your Child

Author : Anthony Kane, MD

One of the most powerful tools that parents have for raising their children is the natural emotional bond that exists between them and their child. Children who feel close to their parents will have a strong desire to obey them. No child with this type of connection to his parents will want to risk hurting that connection by disobeying them. When such a relationship exists, the mere look of dissatisfaction on the face of a parent will usually be enough to curb inappropriate behavior. This bond is so strong and so potent that it lasts even through adolescence when most of the disciplinary tools at our disposal are ineffective. Often, it is the only tool we have in guiding our teenage children. Parents who do not have such a connection with their children have lost a vital resource necessary for successful parenting. In addition, this bond is essential for the child's emotional stability. A recent psychology experiment studied people in their forties, whose parent were emotionally distant from them. These people were often depressed and lacked a sense of emotional well being. They had more difficulty in adjusting to the work environment and new social situations. How do you develop this type of loving bond with your child? It begins in your child's infancy and is built by giving your child the love and affection that he needs. Many well-meaning mothers are completely unaware that their own children are suffering from the lack of physical touch. There are many reasons for this. Most people associate deprived children as those who are neglected, abused, or chronically ill. However, the truth is that many of our children who come from good homes are not getting the physical warmth and love that they need. In our two-income society, unaffectionate caretakers, who provide for the child?s physical needs with as little warmth and contact as possible, often raise children. Also, many of us did not receive enough physical love and warmth as children. As a result, it is not natural to us to cuddle, coo, kiss, and love our children affectionately. In addition, some children naturally need more physical warmth. These touch-deprived children fill our schools. They are the ones who often look sad and depressed, suffering from not getting their physical needs for contact. The United States is one of the richest countries in the history of the world. Yet, our children in general are touch starved. We are busy with our lives and our careers. We often raise our children in broken homes. We as parents are suffering under the burden of so much physical and emotional stress, that we are often just glad to make it through the day without hitting or screaming at our children. Who has time to give them affection? Yet, this is what our children crave most from us. We fill our houses with toys and things for our children, but it is us that they really need. There is much talk about the generation gap. We all know that adolescents naturally rebel. Sometimes we look at our little children and wonder what is going to be in ten years when this cute little four-year-old turns fourteen. Will he be one of the children who abuses drugs? Is he going to steal? Is he going to do worse? What is going to be?You need to take the time now, and give your child the physical warmth and love that your child needs. If you build strong bonds of love with your child now, while he is still young, then all these problems that you read about, will be just that; things that you read about. You will not experience these problems in your own home, because you have developed a strong relationship with you child. Understanding How Spammers Work Can Save You Time And Reduce The Spam You Get

Author : Balraj Dhaliwal

Nobody likes receiving spam and having to spend time dealing with it. Even with sophisticated filtering and avoidance mechanisms discussed in my previous articles entitled "Use A Spam Filtering Tool To Manage Spam And Save Hours Everyday" and "7 Steps To Effectively Take Control Of Your Inbox And Reduce Spam", these unwanted spam messages keep on appearing. By understanding how the system works, we can effectively take steps to significantly reduce the amount of spam that we receive daily. What we have to understand is that email marketing is by far the most effective way to promote products and services on the internet today. The basis of this system it to collect as many email addresses as you can and repeatedly send email messages out to them. There is a legitimate way to do this and then there is the way spammers do it.The legitimate way is to collect email addresses only from people who volunteer it to you on a website in return for some information that you offer. In addition to this every email sent out must include a link or instructions on how to unsubscribe. I would take it one step further and say that unsubscription must be instantaneous. Having to wait for a few days is unacceptable with the software tools available today. Following this method, you will only receive email messages that you have opted-in for and as soon as you are not getting any value out of it, you unsubscribe. The spammers mode of operation is to collect email addresses by any and all means available. This could be by building software spiders to crawl websites 24 hours day looking for email addresses on any page. Usually they search for the HTML tag "mailto:" but as users have stopped hyperlinking in response, the spiders are getting more sophisticated and are putting together text like "john dot smith at domain dot com" into the proper valid email address "john.smith@domain.com". Some websites list all their employees contact emails on one page and is a prime target for spam. Harvesting guestbooks where emails are displayed is also a very common practice.Other methods are more malicious and involve virus-like or worm software being installed on your computer and feeding the names in the address book back to a spam server that collects them.Spammers trade email addresses for money. This is why the system is out of hand - it is an income producing activity. Every email address has a value to it and no matter how little the value, putting together a list of 100,000 can provide a neat income for a spammer. Most spammers have spam lists many times larger than this.Spammers also include the unsubscribe link at the bottom of spam emails. These links when clicked and actioned, tells the spammers that this email address actually got through to a live person and that email address is now moved onto a much higher value list and is traded for more money. Those of us who have actioned these links have found the flood of spam coming in to vastly increase within only days.So now to the question of how to use this knowledge to reduce the spam you get?First, understand that everytime you give out your email address to a website, that it can potentally be sold and traded. Therefore, if you are unsure about it, use an email address that is not your primary one. Webmail services like Hotmail and Yahoo Mail are perfect for this. You only get the messages when you want them and log into those services. I've used a Yahoo Mail address for this for years now. Everytime I log in there are more than a thousand messages but the one that I want to look at is at the top. I never have to delete these messages, Yahoo takes care of it automatically. The only requirement is that I log in to the service within a set period usually 90 or 120 days to keep the account active.Once you are comfortable that the site concerned is legitimate, you can then change your email address to your primary one. On the other hand, if you start getting spammed, then you do nothing, let the spam emails build up and get deleted automatically by the system. In my article entitled "7 Steps To Effectively Take Control Of Your Inbox And Reduce Spam" I discuss an elegant way to safely give out email addresses and shut them down in case they get spammed. This is by far the most effective method that I have used.Other things to watch out for?Spammers are facing tougher times and they are finding it harder to get new email addresses. While this is a good sign that means the general public are getting more educated, it does mean that we have to be careful of where our email addresses are shown or advertised. For example, magazines and newspapers often are great places for a spammer to collect email addresses. This is a much slower method but if we think about it, these email addresses are of much higher value because somebody has paid money to advertise and so it is bound to be a real address. This means that we have to think laterally in order to stay ahead of the spam game.Last but not least, we can surely help significantly reduce the problem by not responding to any spam email message whether it is by clicking on a link, replying to the email or unsubscribing using a supplied link. If you really must look at the site, just type in the domain name part of it into your browser and leave out everything after the domain name. This will take you to the site without the spammers tracking identification code.Together we can surely put a dent in this system by understanding it and staying one or a few steps ahead of spammers.
